Hi everyone! My name is Lauren Johnson, and I’m from Maplewood, New Jersey. On campus, I am a Fields Fellow at the Carl A. Fields Center, a learning consultant at McGraw, and I volunteer for CONTACT. In my free time I like to read, write short stories, and hang out with my family and friends. I am so excited to be a PAA this year, and please reach out if you have any questions!!

Favorite Courses:

ENG 411 (Mourning America: Emerson and Douglass): This seminar brings two authors that I never thought to put in conversation but actually shared quite similar views on complicity and the importance of language and rhetoric.

AAS 367/HIS 387 (African American History Since Emancipation): I learned so much in this class that my high school failed to cover. Professor Guild’s lectures are so insightful and organized and the course provides a lens to look at our contemporary attempts for racial justice.
