Susan VanderKam is the Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies in Chemistry, and has been a lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at Princeton University since 2008. Additionally she is the Manager of Diversity Initiatives for the Chemistry Department. She is the primary instructor for the undergraduate inorganic courses and also facilitates the Junior Independent Work for chemistry concentrators. Dr. VanderKam graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1994 with a B.S. in Applied Science (emphasis: Polymer Chemistry) and with a Ph.D. in Chemistry in 1999 from Princeton University. During her career, she has served as a chemical information specialist as well as a volunteer STEM workshop presenter at local schools and scouting events.
