Mathey and Rockefeller Colleges gratefully cohost the Peter S. Firestone Society. The Firestone Society is funded by a gift in memory of Peter S. Firestone '62, and it offers a context for students to connect through book discussions, meet authors, and participate in literary workshops. Certain events are geared specifically toward Society or college members while others are open to any interested students of the University. Along with advising Mathey and Rocky on upgrades and maintenance of library collections and holdings, The Firestone Society programs and activities include:
- Periodic sessions and readings throughout the year which involve related dinners, receptions, performances, and exhibits.
- Group discussions.
- Workshops on creative writing, editing, bookmaking, storytelling, etc.
